Advanced Balance Disc Fun

Picture
My dogs continue to enjoy their end of day time in their DOGGIE GYM. We play games that strengthen obedience skills, do tricks, and most importantly work on the balance discs.

Both Myst and Beckett were introduced to balance discs when they were puppies and have grown to have wonderful balance, core strength and proprioception.

We were excited to find that FitPaws had just come out with a very cool and challenging new disc, the FlexiPaws Cloud. At first Beckett was not sure he wanted to try this disc but quickly was convinced to step on first with one foot and then the other and then was so proud of himself that he could DO IT and get up on and walk around the discs.

Myst who is now almost 10 and loves the balance discs was also challenged but loves to try new balance work.

What I learned from FitPaws was these discs were made to not be stable or solid on the floor. The more air, the more unstable. I filled them both with what I thought was adequate until they learned how to balance and climb on these discs and then added more air to the teal disc. You will notice how rocky and unstable it is especially when turned over.

More new fun on balance discs in 2020...slack lines and more
