Health and Wellness
Health and Wellness is our new resource that has as its foundation my commitment to learning as much as possible about how to keep my dogs sound, healthy, fit and as active as possible for as long as possible.
My journey started over 13 years ago when my special Puli dog was diagnosed with lymphoma at age 5. I thought he had had the best food and the best of everything for this very special dog. The heartbreaking experience of loosing this very special dog led me to start reading as much as possible about dog's health and wellness.
One of the first and perhaps best resources I found was a book by Dr. Marty Goldstein, The Nature of Animal Healing. Dr. Goldstein remains a leader in animal healing today especially in the field of cancer in dogs. I have taken a number of online courses in canine nutrition and found the very best to be the one offered by Dr. Jean Dodds and Diana R. Laverdure --- To learn more about this excellent and very informative online course and resource which includes a very active FaceBook page and monthly conference calls by Dr. Jean Dodds on topics of interest visit the web site, MY HEALTHY DOG
Additionally, Dr. Jean Dodds and Diana Laverdure's book on Canine Nutrigenomics has been one of the best learning resources on how diet can change a dogs health. Based on the latest scientific findings that show how nutritional ingredients speak to your dogs body and genes. This very important information offers each of us powerful tools to maximize our dogs health.
This page will share important information that I have learned along with links for your reading on canine health and wellness.
